Cavs Achieve First Winning Season Since 2017-2018 Campaign

For the first time since the 2017-2018 campaign, the Cleveland Cavaliers have secured their first winning season after beating the Orlando Magic on Monday, 107-101.

The Cavs’ turnaround to seventh place in the Eastern Conference was created by GM Koby Altman, who has built this franchise around a mix of youth in All-Stars Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley, who have been guided by the leadership of veterans like Kevin Love, Rajon Rondo, two former NBA champs, and Caris LeVert who arrived in Cleveland at the trade deadline.

Garland has posted career-high numbers across the board at 21.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game. He’s also shooting a career-best 46.3 percent from the field. Allen has also averaged a career-high 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.

Mobley is averaging 14.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in his first season out of USC.

The Cavs are ranked fourth in the League in defensive rating (108.0) but 20th in offensive rating (110.4) with a net rating of 2.5, which sits them at 11th.

Cleveland (42-33) return to the hardwood on Tuesday when they host the Mavericks.
